Anthea Manuel
Hello! I'm Anthea, a passionate mental health professional committed to supporting individuals aged 15-35 years through their personal and emotional challenges. My practice is rooted in an eclectic and strength-based approach, allowing me to tailor sessions to each individual's unique needs. The mental health concerns I primarily work with are anxiety, low mood, loneliness, relationship concerns, and self-esteem issues. I strive to create a safe and supportive space for my clients, empowering them to express themselves freely without fear of judgment.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy crocheting, sketching, writing poetry, listening to podcasts, and watching stand-up comedy.
I have an MSc Clinical Psychology degree and a BSc Psychology degree. I received a distinction on my final dissertation project during my master's degree.
I have written a dissertation project titled ‘The Influence of Anxiety-Related Comorbidity Burden on Checking Behaviour' for my master's thesis. I have also co-authored 2 research papers on checking behaviour and anxiety disorders which are in the process of being published in reputable journals.
I have volunteered as a crisis counsellor at 2 crisis helplines.
I have completed school inclusion, group therapy and motivational enhancement therapy training. I have participated in multiple trauma therapy workshops as well.
