Psychological Services
Happy Minds provides psychological services designed to support your emotional and mental well-being. Therapy is a collaborative process, and it works best when both the client and the therapist understand their roles, responsibilities, and boundaries. While therapy can be highly beneficial - helping reduce distress, improve relationships, increase self-awareness, and build coping skills - it may also involve discussing difficult or uncomfortable experiences. This can sometimes bring up emotions like sadness, anxiety, anger, or frustration, which is a normal part of the therapeutic process.

Your first few sessions (typically 2- 4) will focus on understanding your concerns, history, and goals. Based on this assessment, your therapist will share initial impressions and work with you to outline a treatment plan. You are encouraged to ask questions at any stage and to evaluate whether you feel comfortable continuing with your therapist. If you ever feel unsure or wish to explore another perspective, we can help you connect with a different mental health professional for a second opinion. Therapy is most effective when you actively participate both during and between sessions.
Risks & Benefits of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy and counselling can be deeply valuable experiences, but like any therapeutic process, they may involve certain risks. Throughout your sessions, you may explore personal experiences, thoughts, and emotions that can at times feel uncomfortable or challenging- such as sadness, guilt, frustration, or anger. This emotional discomfort is a natural part of the healing process and often reflects meaningful inner work.

Despite these temporary challenges, therapy has been shown to offer significant long-term benefits, including improved emotional wellbeing, enhanced relationships, greater self-awareness, and more effective coping strategies. While specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed, our commitment is to support you with care, professionalism, and evidence-based approaches as you work toward your personal goals.
Client-Therapist Relationship
Your relationship with your therapist is a professional one, created solely for the purpose of providing therapeutic support and services. To maintain the effectiveness, clarity, and integrity of this relationship, it is important that all interactions remain strictly professional and focused on your therapeutic goals. Therapists do not engage in social, financial, or business relationships with clients, as such dual roles can interfere with the quality of care. For this reason, exchanging gifts, services, or favours of any kind is not appropriate. Maintaining these boundaries helps ensure a safe, ethical, and productive therapeutic environment.
Client’s Rights
As a client, you have the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion in a safe and supportive environment. You are entitled to quality care, confidentiality, and freedom from discrimination of any kind. You have the right to understand and participate in your treatment plan, ask questions, offer feedback, and make informed decisions about your care - including the choice to refuse or discontinue therapy. If at any point you feel unsure about your progress, you are welcome to discuss your concerns, request a referral, or seek another therapist. Your comfort, safety, and involvement in the therapeutic process are our priority.
Session Booking
INDIVIDUAL SESSION BOOKING
All sessions must be scheduled through the official Happy Minds website. Clients can choose their therapist, select a suitable time slot, and complete the payment to confirm the appointment. Payment must be made in advance, and session fees vary based on the therapist’s designation.
Booking Through Subscription
Subscribers can book one-on-one therapy sessions with any Associate Psychologist at no additional cost during their active subscription period by using the provided coupon code. Sessions must fall within the subscription’s validity dates.

Subscriptions cover only Associate Psychologist sessions. Consultant Psychologist sessions are charged separately.

To ensure continuity of care, subscribers are expected to continue with the same therapist once therapy has begun. Frequent or unjustified switching may be considered misuse and may result in suspension or termination of subscription privileges.
Therapist Availability
In the event that a therapist becomes temporarily unavailable, users will be informed promptly and their session will be rescheduled to the next mutually convenient date. For extended unavailability, users may choose to continue their session with an alternative therapist of equal or higher qualification, subject to availability.

For users on subscription plans, if a therapist is on break for a period exceeding 30 days, the user will be assigned an equally qualified therapist from the same or higher tier, subject to availability. In such cases, the user’s subscription will continue without interruption.
Reschedule and Cancellation Policy
We have a strict 24-hour reschedule/cancellation policy. All rescheduling/ cancellations of sessions must be done 24 hours prior to the session. This is to ensure that all our clients get slots at their preferred timings, and no slot goes to waste.

In terms of refunds, we generally do not provide a refund once a subscription or individual session is purchased. No refunds will be issued for suspensions resulting from misuse, policy violations, missed sessions, or user-initiated early termination.

Refunds also do not apply in cases where therapists are reassigned due to scheduling or availability.
For individual session bookings, You may cancel your appointment as long as you provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will not be eligible for a refund.

In special circumstances, refund and reschedule requests may be considered and reviewed. Final decisions will be made at the discretion of Happy Minds, with fairness and service quality in mind.
Weekly Session Booking Limitation
Users are encouraged to maintain a mandatory gap of 3-7 days between consecutive sessions. This interval is essential to support the therapeutic process by providing sufficient time for reflection, integration of insights, and implementation of strategies discussed during sessions.
It also helps prevent the development of unhealthy dependence on therapy, ensuring that users build resilience and apply coping skills independently between sessions.

For individuals with an active subscription plan, users may book an unlimited number of sessions during their active subscription; however, a mandatory gap of 3-7 days must be maintained between consecutive sessions.

In exceptional circumstances where additional support is clinically appropriate, users may schedule a session within 3 days of their previous session by paying the standard session fee for such additional appointments.
Payment and Renewal Policy
Individual Sessions
Payment must be completed in advance. A session is confirmed only after successful payment.
Subscription Plans
All subscription payments must be completed manually. Happy Minds does not support auto-pay or auto-renewals. Subscriptions do not renew automatically; users may choose to renew by contacting the Happy Minds team. If payment is not completed, the subscription will expire at the end of its validity.
Subscription Usage and Attendance Policy
The Subscription permits users to book an unlimited number of therapy sessions within the 30-day period beginning from the subscription start date.

To ensure fair usage and effective scheduling, users may reschedule or cancel therapy sessions up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled session start time.

In the event of a no-show, the user will receive a Fair Usage Notice. Any subsequent no-shows will be considered a breach of the fair usage policy, upon which:

⚫ The user’s subscription will be suspended,
⚫ All future sessions booked under the subscription will be cancelled, and
⚫ The user will not be eligible for any refunds for the remaining subscription period.
Subscription-Specific Service Limitations
All Happy Minds subscription plans are exclusively designed for Individual therapy sessions and come with specific usage limitations. Subscriptions do not include clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, or specialized services such as screenings for Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Personality Disorders, career counseling, psycho-educational assessments, or any other evaluative or diagnostic procedures. These services must be booked separately at their standard rates.

Subscription plans also exclude all therapy and psychiatry services outside the scope of individual therapy with Associate Psychologists. This includes couples therapy, family counseling, psychiatric consultations or follow-ups, child and adolescent therapy, geriatric counseling, and other specialized services. Users must book these services independently and pay the applicable fees. Subscription options for these services are not currently available.

Additionally, each subscription is strictly for one registered user only and cannot be shared, transferred, or used by multiple individuals under any circumstances. Any attempt to misuse or share a subscription will be considered a violation of the fair usage policy and may result in suspension or cancellation without refund. Happy Minds retains full discretion in identifying and addressing such misuse.

Professional Records
Your therapist maintains appropriate records of the services provided, stored securely at all times. These records may include your reasons for seeking therapy, treatment goals and progress, diagnosis, relevant medical or personal history, and billing information. You also have the right to request that your progress or records be shared with another healthcare provider, provided you submit a written request.
Therapist Autonomy & Clinical Boundaries
Happy Minds upholds the professional autonomy and clinical judgment of its therapists, who make decisions in alignment with ethical guidelines and the user’s best interests. Therapists may determine whether continuing sessions is clinically appropriate, adjust session frequency or therapeutic pacing, recommend referrals to specialists or external services, or decline/terminate sessions if continuation is not therapeutically suitable or safe. Session frequency and direction will be mutually agreed upon based on clinical needs and progress. By using the service, users agree to respect the therapist’s professional discretion and boundaries.
