Asmita Tarafdar
Hey folks! I am Asmita, a compassionate mental health advocate committed to making the therapeutic space more collaborative, empathetic, affirming, and safe for individuals, where clients can feel seen, heard, validated, and empowered. I am dedicated to supporting individuals aged 18-40 years through their personal and emotional turmoil, which is disrupting their daily functioning. My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy and the Cognitive-Behavioral approach, which helps me tailor each session to the client's needs and create a space to explore their lived experience. I have previously worked with adolescents, children, and other adult clinical populations at various hospitals and clinics. Therapy with me will be a process of learning, relearning, and unlearning various patterns, where the clients will walk me through their lived experiences and break free from their old barriers by unwinding one moment at a time, which will eventually help them cultivate resilience and confidence in dealing with new challenges in this fast-evolving world.

Outside of work, you may find me Binge-watching Documentaries, movies, series, immersing myself in music, doodling and painting, or engaging in any form of art, and whenever I get a chance to pet a dog or cat, I just utilise it to the fullest, and occasionally might read a good book and also enjoy dancing, honestly speaking I know it seems a lot but it really keeps me grounded and provide a respite from daily monotony. Through my work, you might see me encouraging the person to pursue more guilt-free interests and hobbies, because I believe everyone truly deserves an Unconditional guilt-free break in the midst of the daily hustle, just to keep themselves grounded and feel loved. Lastly, "I'll be there for you," in this healing journey of yours :)
