Mayuri Manoharan
Hello! I'm Mayuri, an Associate Psychologist and trainee therapist under supervision at Heart It Out, with experience across hospital, school, and community mental health settings. I work with adolescents, young adults, and working professionals navigating anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, life transitions, and academic or workplace challenges.
My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), with a focus on emotional regulation, mindfulness, healthier relationships, self-awareness, adaptive coping patterns, and meaningful emotional growth. I aim to create a safe, supportive, and queer-affirmative space where individuals feel heard, understood, and emotionally supported at a pace that feels meaningful and comfortable for them. Alongside adult counselling, I also have experience in child and adolescent behavioural and emotional support settings. Sometimes our hardest battles are the ones we carry silently — therapy can be a space where those experiences no longer have to be faced alone.
I believe therapy is not about fixing ourselves, but about understanding ourselves with greater compassion, clarity, and honesty while gradually building healthier ways of coping, emotional resilience, and meaningful change.
“The patterns we struggle with often make sense once we begin understanding the experiences, emotions, and needs beneath them.”
Outside of therapy, I find grounding and self-expression through poetry, painting, music, dance, crochet, pottery, interior décor, personal styling, stargazing, and quiet moments by the beach during sunset. Creative and reflective spaces help me stay emotionally connected, mindful, and appreciative of authenticity, patience, and meaningful expression — values I naturally carry into my therapeutic work as well.
