Meghana Bhat
Hello, I'm Meghana, a Mental Health Professional and Counsellor-in-Training supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, stress, emotional difficulties, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and adjustment issues. My goal is to help you clarify your values and reconnect with your most authentic self.
While a Person-Centered philosophy grounded in empathy and authenticity is at the core of my practice, I lean into an eclectic framework, thoughtfully integrating a wide range of behavioural and cognitive techniques to suit your unique needs and experiences. I strive to practice in a manner that is ethical, culturally sensitive, and deeply collaborative; one that moves at your pace and focuses on what feels meaningful to you. Our work together might look like open conversations, gentle exploration of thoughts and feelings, moments of self-reflection, or even a bit of creative expression when words don't fully do the job.
Before stepping into the mental health field, I spent over a decade as a professional singer and educator, an experience that taught me the art of truly listening, the beauty of deep connection, and the importance of emotional expression. This has instilled in me a sense of discipline, consistency, and an ability to connect meaningfully with myself and others that I carry into my practice today. I hold a special interest in integrating music into mental health work, particularly with children, and hope to explore this further in the future. Outside my practice, I unwind through cooking, swimming, yoga or watching mindless comedy. Lately, I've also been trying my hand at gardening and composting as part of my journey toward a more intentional, sustainable life... one small step at a time. Therapy with me is a safe, compassionate, and accepting space where you are understood the way you understand yourself! I am here to hold space for you, whether you are looking to explore yourself, work through a challenge, or simply be heard.
