Shewtha Jayakrishnan
Hello! I am Shewtha, and I'm a mental health professional and a trainee therapist. I work primarily with students and young adults and help them navigate through the everyday pressures of academics, relationships, identity and figuring life out.
I don't believe in the one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I offer a space where you can show up as who you are, without needing to explain, justify, or perform- and simply be heard. My work is rooted in genuine listening, and building a relationship where you feel comfortable and safe enough to be honest, even if it seems messy or confusing.
If you're a student or a young adult feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need someone to talk to and sit with you in whatever you're going through without judging you- I'd love to work with you. We can work together and figure out what support looks like for you.
Outside of therapy, I care a lot about the world I live in. Animal welfare, rescue, sustainability, and veganism are causes that are very close to my heart and shape a large portion of how I move through my daily life. Spirituality helps me ground myself and keeps me connected to something larger than the day-to-day noise.
Completed a Master's in Clinical Psychology, with hands-on clinical exposure gained through internships at two rehabilitation centres and a psychology clinic
Conducted two independent dissertations: one at the undergraduate level and one for my Master's helping me develop a strong foundation in psychological research and evidence-based understanding
Gained practical experience across diverse clinical settings, working directly with individuals navigating addiction, recovery, and a range of mental health concerns
Continually building my clinical skills through supervised, real-world practice rather than relying on theory alone
