Sumitra Sahu
Hello! I'm Sumitra, a passionate mental health advocate. My aim is to create a non judgemental, empathetic and a safe positive therapy experience for my clients. My approach combines positive restructuring of thoughts and humanistic principals. I look forward to working together to make a better space where you feel heard, supported and empowered.
Apart from therapy I love doing mandala, painting, watching mythological stories, cartoon series, cinemas, going out with friends and family, playing with kids, reading books, listening music, doing yoga and meditation.
Clinical Foundation and Rehabilitation Expertise - With a Bachelor's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics, an RCI-licensed rehabilitation profession,
and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, I bring a unique blend of physical rehabilitation and
mental health expertise. My experience includes working with individuals facing disabilities,
neurological conditions, and rehabilitation challenges, alongside clinical training in a government
hospital and advanced studies in Counselling Psychology and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
(SFBT). I also support clients in identifying personal strengths, setting meaningful goals,
overcoming barriers to growth, and navigating career-related concerns through a structured and
solution-focused approach.
I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for neurodivergent individuals,
including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Conditions. My approach focuses on emotional regulation,
self-awareness, executive functioning, interpersonal effectiveness, and building practical coping
skills within a neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based framework.
My training in Positive Psychology and Somatic Work enables me to support clients in developing
resilience, self-confidence, emotional well-being, and mind-body awareness. I integrate
strengths-based, trauma-informed, and somatic practices to help clients navigate life's challenges,
enhance self-esteem, improve motivation, and foster lasting emotional balance and personal
growth.
Through certifications in Energy Psychology and Holistic Healing, combined with experience
working in a Children's Care Center, I adopt an integrative and client-centered approach to mental
well-being. I incorporate mindfulness-based practices, meditation, relaxation techniques, and
holistic wellness strategies alongside evidence-based psychological interventions. This allows me
to support children, adolescents, and adults in enhancing emotional resilience, managing stress,
cultivating self-awareness, and achieving greater overall psychological well-being and life
satisfaction.
