Venkateshwari Murugesan
Hi, I'm Venkateshwari, a mental health professional passionate about supporting adolescents and adults through life's ups and downs. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and can explore their thoughts and emotions openly. My work draws from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches, tailoring each session to the individual's unique needs.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, spending time in nature and unwinding with a good movie or book. I also value slowing down and finding joy in life's everyday moments. In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative and supportive space where we work together to help you gain new perspectives and navigate life's challenges with greater balance and confidence.
Completed Master's in Wellness Counselling. Completed internships across the fields of counselling psychology, clinical psychology, child development, career counselling, and mental health research.
Conducted my master's thesis on "Exploring the role of self-control and smoking cessation self-efficacy in cigarette dependence among young adult smokers".
Contributed to creating educational learning aids and classroom resources for children with visual impairments while supporting inclusion-focused community initiatives.
Received supervised training in case history taking, Mental Status Examination (MSE), case conceptualization, treatment planning, and psychological assessment, including administering MISIC in a school setting.
